Keda LAG Developed the First Draft of Local Development Strategy
From June 4-8, the Keda LAG, under the EU-supported ENPARD programme implemented by CENN, hosted workshops with different sector groups.

During the first stage of the workshop, the groups were presented with the results of the regional analysis in different objectives carried out in the framework of the project, and, based on this analysis, the resources and potential of the region have been identified.

Based on the regional analysis, participants discussed the priority objectives of the local development strategy in Keda and elaborated the result-oriented action plan. Following strategic directions have been identified:

  • Diversification of economic activity in rural areas through SME and tourism development;
  • Development of Climate Smart Agriculture;
  • Environmental Protection, Natural Recourse Management and Disaster Risk Management;
  • Support the participation of youth and women in the Rural Development Process.

Based on the Strategy, innovative projects will be financed and implemented in Keda Municipality with EU support. The final version of the Strategy will publish in the end of July 2018.

The project, Keda Leader, is implemented with the financial support from the EU by CENN in partnership with the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG), Institute of Democracy (IoD) and the Austrian Institute for Regional Studies and Spatial Planning (ÖIR).
The EU is supporting agriculture and rural development in Georgia through its ENPARD Programme. Implemented since 2013 with a total budget of EUR 179.5 million (2013-2022). The main goal of ENPARD is to reduce rural poverty in Georgia. More information on ENPARD is available at: www.enpard.ge
